"Beach Umbrella" is a book and project I started in July of 2020. The beach umbrellas were shot in Rockaway Beach over the course of 4 Mondays, starting July 13th, 2020. When I arrived at the beach on the 13th, it was littered with broken umbrellas. I assumed they were left behind because people finally had the chance to drag out their beach supplies from 2019—this being the first weekend of beaches open for swimming since the beginning of the pandemic. Beach Umbrella Grid #3 is from the first Monday and I loved how iPhoto created this arrangement and text. Also loved the way the sequence told a story from left to right. This is a limited edition NFT gifted at the PhotoVogue Festival 2022 in Milan, Italy.
